Here is the link to the shop of a sweet friend of mine. http://www.etsy.com/shop/tilesmile?ref=pr_shop_more We only met a couple of times and I am so glad we did! One of those rare friendships that just seemed to spark right away. Rachel makes these wonderful tiles with just fun sayings on them. My two say Deep in the Heart....Of Texas - of course! :) I like this one, too - may have to get another! I use mine, gently - no kids allowed on these - as a spoon rest for my tea time.
Some folks have her make bunches of these and use them as the back splash in their kitchen. Wouldn't that be neat?! So, go by and take a look, bet you'll find one, or two...or more that you love. :)

Fun Friday
So, what am I working on today? Well, I am working on getting together enough projects for a two hour crochet class today. I teach a class to 3 young girls once a week but we missed a week or two so, for fun, we are doing a couple two hour classes to make it up. They thought the one hour class went by pretty quickly and so, I think, have enjoyed the two hour spot we've had - this will be the second time we've done that.
Today we are making cute little loopy flowers - very easy and they'll be able to finish several in class. It is always nice for them to be able to finish something and get to take it home. This is a beginner/basics class so sticking with a project for a week or so can be a little tough! :) The other project I have for today is teaching them how to make yo-yos. Did you know you can crochet those?! :) Well, not the up and down toy type but round circles made from lots of DC (double crochet) that you can do so much with! I'm working on a hot mat for my table. Today the girls will work on rows of yo-yos though as the first one I started was rounds and that is a little more tricky.
Fun - Fun! :)
More later! Have a happy Friday,y'all!

Thankful Thought
Missed putting this up yesterday but wanted to make sure to include something I'm thankful for this week! I believe it is so important to make the choice to BE Thankful. :)
So! This week I am especially thankful for the results of my daughter's blood test (she is hypoglycemic), thankful for my mom's improving health, thankful for the GORGEOUS spring weather outside :), thankful for my little garden plot that I get to work at and try to grow something - carrots coming up as we speak and baby tomato plants inside getting ready to go outside!
I am thankful to wake up to the birds' singing - love hearing that in the mornings. Thankful for the flowers that are showing up everywhere. What a beautiful time of year.
What are you thankful for today?

Wool Gathering Wednesday
Hello Blog Land!!
Here I am trying to get back to my blog. Whew! What a crazy first 3 months of the year we had around here...as I am sure many of you also have had. I am looking forward to slowing down with crazy happenings around here for a bit. We found - so far - that my daughter is hypoglycemic and are working on getting her levels back to where they should be. She is still having some tummy problems and will go in for another test this weekend.
My mom is improving, slowly but surely. I am so thankful for that as well as for the chance I have to go help out for a few days. Here I come CO! That will be quite a change from our 80+ degrees back to snow and cold! Maybe I'll get some crocheting done while mom and I sit inside, warm and cozy, and visit! :)
I am working on some more American Girl size doll clothes....Spring colors! Oh yes, and an extra dress as my daughter's favorite sold - so must make her another. :) Otherwise, I am working away on an order for a bunch of my little heart bookmarks!
Makes me so happy that someone wants them! :) I think they are too cute and great bookmarks....but then I read quite a lot, too. I'm the crazy type that has at least four books going at one time, plus a stack of whatever magazine I've picked up! Lately the magazines are all about planting and gardening with the occasional crochet magazine I just couldn't pass up! Always looking for new patterns to try out. I really want to try Filet Crochet this summer. Besides it being beautiful it is also made with thread and so will not be so hot to work with when the temps go up around here. Yay!
Well, all for today, dear friends! I do sincerely hope I haven't lost you all! Have a nice Wednesday evening.

LIFE
Well, it seems that all relaxing and rest I got last month....the extra time to crochet and create...was a huge blessing from the Lord..shoring me up for the storms to come!
I am sorry, my blogging friends, to not have updated this page as often as I had wanted!
My family has had quite the month! Seems almost everyone we know has been hit with nasty illness this season, my little nephew had heart surgery, my daughter had a week of being very dizzy and passing out, my youngest sister had a baby (Yay!! Good news!) and now my mom is in the hospital. Whew. Do you ever feel like life is just spinning out of control around you?! I thank God that in spite of these feelings we have His assurance that, as His children, He has promised to never leave us. He IS always in control.
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling.
Psalm 46:1-2
I do hope you all will be here when I get back! I will be MIA for awhile....until we figure out what's up with my mom, most likely.
Praying y'all have a good weekend!
